Great atmospheric place on Rovinj marine. Looks like it has some own history, it has an impressive choice of wines and dishes. The star of the table - fresh and warm home baked bread and olive oil which was served while we were waiting for the order. It created a value from scratch. The dishes are really authentic and delicious, tasty pasta for kids, fish/seafood plate to share.. This is a recommendation with no doubt

Not sure why the place only has 4.3 but after our 3rd visit in last few years our experience was always great. Amazing location on the water, good selection of fish and meat dishes at fair prices for Rovinj. Decent wine list with fair prices. The lady serving us on Saturday noon was really amazing and attentive even do She was handling the terrace on her own. We will be back!

A really good menu with fish, meat and chicken. Outside you can sit by the water or inside to avoid the sun in air conditioned comfort. Lots of fish and Istrian focussed food and wine. The service is really good. Attentive and well done. The food was solid. The chicken was really good, although a little dry. The mussels were fresh, but also a little dry. The steak was really well done. All in a very solid place.

Kantinon Tavern is a charming konoba for lovers of authentic Istrian cuisine. The homemade pasta is often paired with local truffles or rich seafood sauces. Their freshly baked corn bread is warm, rustic, and irresistible, especially when paired with virgin olive oil and a glass of crisp, local Malvazija wine. We had a great experience with tender, expertly grilled octopus—simple, honest flavors that highlight the region’s coastal flavors. The friendly service and cozy simple setting complete the experience, making this konoba a must-visit for an unforgettable taste of Istria.

We stood in the best table inside the first room but at the open door facing the marina. This spot made everything taste great, and actually the food was delicious. We took the tuna tartar, it was nice, but the gnocchi and the slow cooked pork cheeks on a special dough, was excellent. Staff was super.

Don’t judge a book by its cover – or a restaurant by its touristy looks. At first glance, Kantinon might seem like just another spot along the Rovinj waterfront catering to the summer crowd. But once you sit down, it quickly becomes clear that this place is far from a tourist trap. The service? Absolutely excellent — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without a hint of pretension. You feel looked after, not just served. The food? Solid across the board, with a few standouts. The octopus, in particular, was simply sublime — perfectly tender and bursting with flavor. Everything is made in-house, from the pasta to the bread, and you can taste the care in every bite. It’s the kind of place that surprises you — in the best possible way. Worth a visit if you’re in Rovinj and want something honest, home-made, and served with heart.

This is our third year vacationing in Rovinj, and Kantinon has become our absolute favorite restaurant. From the moment you sit down and taste their homemade bread with olive oil, you know you’re in for something special — it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and the staff uniforms add a nice, tasteful touch. The view from the terrace overlooking the harbor is simply stunning — but what truly sets this place apart is the food. Everything we’ve tried has been top quality and wonderfully prepared. The tuna tartare is excellent. All the pastas and risottos are cooked to perfection — no spaghetti with ketchup here! The fish dishes are outstanding, and their signature potato side — thinly sliced and roasted with capers, olives, and tomatoes — is an absolute dream. Finally, someone understands that we don’t want just boiled potatoes with Swiss chard! For us, this is a truly high-level restaurant: friendly service, simple yet exceptional food, no shortcuts or processed ingredients. We always look forward to coming back and will happily keep recommending it to others.
